A couple of weeks ago I read of a new study providing some optimism regarding increased populations of Atlantic cod:
The Atlantic cod population is showing signs of a comeback, decades after a high-profile collapse that had a calamitous impact on fishing communities.Andrew Revkin's piece today included some video related to the possibility of a future cod fishery around Cape Cod.
On a fish related note, Revkin's entry includes the link to this 'dipity' source -- if you zoom out you'll catch a longer timeframe. Nifty tool - I'd note the last entry on the timeline, which is "Trace and Trust," which strikes me as an interesting program having huge potential beyond fish.
